Vanyou ideas

It almost seems a miracle, on our overdeveloped coast, to come across Serra d'Irta. A 15-kilometre stretch of coastline in the province of Castellón, between Peñíscola and the Alcossebre beaches, practically untouched. It's considered the last virgin coastal range from the Pyrenees to Andalusia. It features cliffs, small coves, sand and pebble beaches and even micro-dunes. With this setting it's impossible to resist travelling here to discover it.

Serra d'Irta is just 140 km from Valencia, 1 h 45 min. We recommend taking the CV-10 and then the CV-13 to Torreblanca, joining the N-340; this way you'll take about 15 more minutes but you'll save on the motorway, although you can also use the AP-7.

You can access from Peñíscola going down to Alcossebre or the other way around.

The park is fully covered by a coastal track that runs along all the beaches and coves. There are several signed car parks where we can take advantage to spend the night. As always, be discreet and totally respectful with the environment — remember you're in a natural park.

In Serra d'Irta you can enjoy your campervan to spend a few days on the beach or to go hiking, cycling and, of course, diving and fishing. There are several underwater routes at Pebret beach (with fossil dunes thousands of years old), Irta beach and Argilaga cove.

From north to south you'll find:

  • Pebret beach with parking area and picnic zone.
  • Irta beach, with parking area. Argilaga beach, with a small car park.

Mundina beach, already in Alcossebre, where you can see the modern lighthouse.

From here onwards, heading south, are the Alcossebre beaches, specifically:

  • Las Tres Fuentes beach, with freshwater springs.
  • Carregador beach, Romana beach.
  • Moro beach.
  • Tres Playas, Manyetes or Tropicana beach.
  • Serradal beach, Cala Blanca.

You can also visit Badum tower, located on one of the highest cliffs of the region and with freshwater springs, the 16th-century San Antonio hermitage with excellent panoramic views, and the famous Peñíscola castle.

If you want to experience the feeling of being in an untouched place without having to travel to the other side of the world, don't hesitate — rent your campervan at Vanyou and enjoy nature with family, friends, your partner or solo.
